Date a girl who hikes

Date a girl who hikes. Date a girl who spends money on quality rucksack, hiking wear and camping gear instead of expensive jewellery, a closet of high-heeled shoes and facials at beauty salons. She has problem with heavy make up because she is always active and looks younger. Date a girl who has a list of mountains she wants to scale, who has had strong legs ever since she started hike at school.

Find a girl who hikes. You’ll know that she does because she will always have the urge to hike in her leisure time. She’s the one who squeals in delight in seeing the beautiful waterfall or mountain summit; or quietly thankful when seeing the dragonflies, butterflies, chameleons, bugs and colourful plants.  She forgets the struggles and itchy insect bites once she saw them, and spends her time with them in her own world. Sentimental chicks, they are.

She’s the little girl who lives in the rough, or trains herself to be strong to withstand the long physical hours of hiking. But it does not make her less feminine for she is afraid to be alone. Be her extra supporter, and never leave her behind in the dark. She’s not afraid of getting leech and mossies’ bites, bruises and scars, dirty hands and wet pants, and wears the same clothes in the journey into the wildlife. But it does not make her careless of her beauty for her skin is tender; or her presentation for she adores dresses and accessories. Be her shield, let yourself be the first to be bitten and get dirty or wet.

She is a true dreamer. She chases sunrise or sunset by foot - that is the wildest dream. If it is snowing, she would make it her playground. She lays her head at her tent gazing at the gushing white falls or twinkling yellow stars. She listens to the cacophony of grasshoppers or follows the fireflies she spots in the night. She will not talk much with you, as she is talking with God who creates nature. Stand or sit with her capturing the moments with your camera. Ask her if she likes it and wants more from another side.

Make her a hot drink or supper. If you are lucky, she cooks something.

It is easy to date a girl who hikes. Celebrate her birthday at the mountains. Surprise her with different meals, flowers and gifts. They can be simple like sunrise, but once a while expensive like sunset. Make her a meal, take fun pictures, or tell funny hiking and camping stories. Let her know that you understand that actions are love. Understand that she knows the difference between the backcountry mountain and the resourceful city but by god, she’s going to make her life a little like Jumanji adventure.

Show her the waterfall or river, and she jumps into cold water like mermaid. Water is scarce in backcountry mountain, and it is indeed a treasure for her to smell like rose. The spring water rejuvenates her in and out. And you will see a true nymph in her.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are the motivation and destination. It will not be the end of the world.

You will propose her on hot air balloon. Or cook a sumptuous fish you had catch for dinner at camp. Or casually on the mountaintop. Or over Facebook. Cos she is adventurous, you become creative like nature changes daily.

Why be afraid of everything that you are not? Girls who hike understand that no mountains can be overcomed in a day. People, like mosses and mossy forests, take time to develop beautifully.

Date a girl who hikes because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most amazing life that is possible. You deserve a girl who can persevere with you through thick and thin. If you can only give her "it's about me (you)" time, free maid requests, or half-baked proposals then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who hikes.

Or better yet, date a girl who organises hiking trips.

Note:
This article inspired from "Date a girl who reads" by Rosemarie Urquico. I used to read a lot but now more into hiking and still reading but less attention span than before. I write to share that girls who hike have little girl inside them, just they do not have the chance to show it due to the harsh world that girls have to fend off on their own for safety. "The girl who hikes" is not limited to girls who do hardcore hiking & camping, but also the girls who hike that have similar personalities described above for they are true lover of nature.

  1. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
